Below is a selection of colour images drawn to explore the characters in more depth. These were drawn using various different programs, allowing me to test the merits and pitfalls of each. See below my analysis of each.
Clip Studio Paint
PC Program, Using Screen Tablet
Designed primarily for digital drawing/painting with extensive tools for comic making & animation. This is my default toolset that I am most familiar with, have used for many years. Previously also used a non-screen tablet; screen tablet is pretty much objectively a better experience. But learning to draw with a non-screen tablet first has helped me gain a better understanding of the program. This program has an extensive list of tools that have made drawing with it seamless and intuitive.
MediBang Paint
Phone Program
lacks a lot of the advanced tools & specific brushes offered by my preferred program, but has the basics and the advantage of portability.
Procreate
Ipad Program
This is the closest match to the experience of drawing on paper. Extremely intuitive & easy to use. Features comparable to CSP. I would make it my main platform if I had the financial means to afford my own Ipad.
