After the Prom - Norman Rockwell
Norman Rockwell (1894-1978), was an American painter/illustrator sometimes grouped with the contemporary pop art movement. Famous for his cover illustrations for magazines including The Saturday Evening Post, his work is characterised by, and well-loved for, its vibrant reflection of American everyday life.
Sometimes associated with an idealised patriotic view of the country. His style is defined by exuberant energy and close attention to detail, his paintings depict almost cinematic snapshots of life. Though very different in style, leaning more towards realism, the America depicted by Rockwell has permeated public consciousness. The general energy of his work has influenced my approach to depicting the world of Pest Control.
